In Search of Light: Cosmologies (Immersive VR + Light Installation + Sound)
In Search of Light: Cosmologies is an immersive installation that investigates light as both a physical phenomenon and a cultural construct throughout human history. More than a source of illumination, light has served as a compass for orientation, a foundation for ritual, and a medium through which civilizations have understood their place within the cosmos. While science continues to deepen our understanding of its physical properties, its cultural and existential significance remains open to interpretation.
The virtual journey unfolds in two interconnected sequences across five immersive environments. Three scenes are built from high-resolution 3D scans of historical and spiritual sculptures captured on site and transformed into immersive virtual worlds.
The installation combines virtual reality, spatial sound, and a site specific volumetric light sculpture to create an embodied experience of light. Together, these elements dissolve the boundary between virtual and architectural space, inviting visitors to inhabit environments where perception itself becomes the subject of inquiry and encouraging each participant to develop a personal relationship with light.
